Much Ado About Nothing

Puppyhood has me plum tuckered. Yup. My brain has been too tired to come up with something witty to blog. My body is fatigued from constantly trying to keep up with a 13-week old puppy who believes he's the center of the universe and boldly explores where no other puppy has. A puppy who challenges me everytime I put him down for a nap because he thinks he's not tired yet falls instantly asleep as soon as I close the crate door. Let's face it, I'm not as young as I used to be (thank you, Mrs. Obvious). I haven't been cooking, but resorting to unknown [fill in prefix]-berto drive-thru and fish burritos that force you to spend time with the porcelain bus more than you care for. Kind of like the obligatory family reunions Mom forced me to attend but not as painful.

Puppyhood mental fatigue is not new to me but somehow always reduces me down to some kind of Bourdainian mental state the first month. But maybe that's not a bad thing. Maybe it's a really really good thing. I mean the joy of watching all the furkids running around, Sydney finding new enthusiasm when old toys become new again, Cole getting a sibling that he can tussle with (like brothers do). Isn't that kind of joy worth a bit of brain and body fatigue? Watching all 3 of them this past week just reconfirmed some things. Puppy euphoria is one of the best things on earth and I will go through the painstakingly long housebreaking period each time for it. And, we did a pretty damn good job raising our dogs. Not that I've ever questioned our dog parenting skills but it's just good to see all our dedication and love come to fruition in times like this. Now if I can just take a week off from work to recoup...

He-he-he...riding the porcelain bus. We recently puppy-sat a 9 week old Lab....geeez I forgot how it was having a puppy around...my fingers were shredded raw from his little puppy teeth....I was exhausted.

Hey Kirk! lol! Yeah, that bus ride was not fun, not fun at all.

Awwww, 9-week old Lab puppy! I bet he still have puppy breath and was really cute and fluffy. Did the Boys like having a puppy around?

Hey CAB - Frankie loved the company at first....someone to play with, until the little critter wouldn't stop and let him rest! He went and hid. Sammy, being alpha-male thought he was too good for the little pup....ah yes, pack dynamics......

lol! Poor Frankie. It's hard when those young whippersnappers only come with 2 settings, On and Off. Sydney, the Alpha, is finally paying some attention to Merlin. But he doesn't have the speed to outrun her yet.
